Stage Extras:

This is a new feature that Code.org quietly released a couple of weeks ago. They have some more improvements planned, so they are waiting to make a big announcement until then.

They often hear from teachers that Code Studio makes it too easy for their students to unintentionally work ahead. When students finish the last bubble in a stage, they are automatically moved to the next stage. This makes it hard for some teachers to keep everyone on the same page. If you turn on Stage Extras for a section, when students in that section finish a stage they will see a pop-up like this:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7-SvWwqBhOxdWlXOUhmMmJNN1U

This provides a "speed-bump" so that students don't unintentionally get ahead, and gives them some other activities (projects) to do for the remainder of class.

Code.org plans to add some more challenges to this area to make it a little more directed.
